At Charleston Gullah Sweetgrass Baskets Jewelry More, we take pride in our exceptional sweetgrass basket classes. In these classes, you will learn how to weave a Charleston sweetgrass basket using traditional materials like sweetgrass, pine needle, and palmetto palm. Discover the art of Gullah baskets as you work individually or in small groups to create your own unique sweetgrass baskets. You'll leave the class deeply satisfied, taking home a piece of historic art that reflects 300 years of tradition.
Our sweetgrass basket classes are taught by Marsella Jefferson, a 5th generation sweetgrass basket weaver, who will help you unlock the basketry skills you already possess.
CLASSES ARE 2.5 HRS. ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED.
FOR GROUPS OF MORE THAN 8, I CAN COME TO YOU.
AND I DO TRAVEL FOR 4 OR MORE PARTICIPANTS.
